Based in Liverpool’s historic Georgian Quarter is a Grade II listed former school featuring a restored natural Welsh slate roof.
An innovative and historically detailed roof renovation
The Lofts building has been successfully renovated into high-end, open-plan student lofts, situated right in the historic heart of the city, steps away from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University. The lower floors house the highly-rated Art School Restaurant and basement wine bars
The conservation work involved stripping and recovering the vast roof space using high-quality natural Welsh slates. This was done to match local historic detailing and ensure moisture resistance and longevity exceeding a century.
